Each year a dedicated group of volunteers organize and manage The Board Meeting Corporate Surf Event to raise much-needed funds for local charities.

Over the last four years the event has raised over $60,000 for charity, proving again that surfers have big hearts when it comes to helping out those in the community.

Ways you can help

There are a few ways you can support The Board Meeting. A] You can enter a team of surfers, B] You can sponsor a team under your business name and we will arrange for a team for you, or C] You can simply make a donation of cash or auction items to the cause. Or simply attend one of our fundraising drives like this year's Surf Movie Night where we're showing the classic Tubular Swells.

The main event

The event, which started in 2003, is run on the second Saturday in November each year (this year November 8) and draws on the enthusiasm and generosity of the Surfing and Business communities to participate in an amateur surfing competition where the emphasis is on fun.

It is also an great opportunity for surfers to get together in the water, have a good time and broaden their local business contacts.

The event allows for a maximum of 36 teams of 4 surfers and the competition is run in conjunction with Surfing Queensland to ensure the rules and aims of the event are upheld fairly. Entry is open to all surfers - young and old, amateur and pro, trade and professional.

Surf memorabilia auction

All funds raised from the event including entry fees and proceeds from the annual surf gear & memorabilia auction held on presentation night, go directly to local charities.

Donations of memorabilia and prizes can also be made, as it is a great avenue for exposure within the surfing business community.
