Each year a dedicated group of volunteers organize and manage The Board Meeting Corporate Surf Event to raise much-needed funds for local disabled children and their families.

Over the last five years the event has raised over $130,000 for charity, proving again that surfers have big hearts when it comes to helping out those in the community.

Ways you can help

The main event is the surf comp, but there are several ways you can support The Board Meeting. 
A] You can enter a team of surfers,
B] You can sponsor a team under your business name and we will arrange for a team for you, or 
C] You can simply make a donation of cash or auction items to the cause. Or simply attend one of our fundraising drives like this year's Surf Movie Night where we're showing the classic Morning of the Earth.

The main event

The event, which started in 2003, is run in early November each year (this year November 4 and 5) and draws on the enthusiasm and generosity of the Surfing and Business communities to participate in an amateur surfing competition where the emphasis is on fun.

This year we will have our opening presentation & drinks at the Kawana Surf Club on the Friday, the competition will be on Saturday from 6.00am and the auction and presentations will be at of 1.00pm immediately following the event.

This will be in the Kawana Surf Club beer garden.

The event allows for a maximum of 36 teams of 4 surfers and the competition is run in conjunction with Surfing Queensland to ensure the rules and aims of the event are upheld fairly.

Entry is open to all surfers - young, old, amateur, pro, male, female.

It is a great opportunity for surfers to get together in the water, have a good time and broaden their local business contacts.

5.30pm - 8.00 pm Event launch, location confirmation, competition outline, handing out of competitor gift bags & shirts, raffles and drinks at Kawana Surf Club beer garden

11.30am Expression Session
From 12.15pm Move to the Kawana Surf Club beer garden for lunch
Fashion parade with the gorgeous Hive Swimwear models
1.00pm Auction and celebrations
2.30pm Presentations

Surf memorabilia auction

All funds raised from the event including entry fees and proceeds from the annual surf gear & memorabilia auction held on presentation night, go directly to local fanilies in need.

Donations of memorabilia and prizes can also be made, as it is a great avenue for exposure within the surfing business community.
